2 CONFLICTING AND DEVIATION – Barred Tess specification and inspection
2.1 The VENDOR shall clearly and identify in his proposal any deviation or exception to this specification and other referenced specification.
2.2 In the event of any conflict of information, clarification in writing shall be obtained from the EPC CONTRACTOR.
2.3 VENDOR must confirm in his quotation that all barred tees supplied comply exactly with the requirements specified in the barred tees requisition and attachments thereto.
2.4 VENDOR must clearly state in his quotation all instances in which the barred tees offered deviate from the barred tees requisitioned.

3 DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE
3.1 VENDOR guided bars shall be provided to prevent entry of pigs/ spheres in branch pipeline. Opening in branch pipeline through scrapper guided bars shall not be more than 40% of the area of opening in the main pipeline. Scrapper guided bars shall be designed to withstand the design
condition of the pipeline.
3.2 Where branches are 40% or more of main line diameter, tees shall be employed and shall be fitted with scraper guide bars. Not necessary employed guide bar for branches less than 40% of the main line size.
3.3 Barred tees shall be suitable for the passage of all types of pipeline scraper and inspection pigs on regular basis in without causing any damage to pig and scrapper guided bars. Barred tee shall provide an unobstructed profile for pigging operations in either direction.
3.4 Bars shall conform to material quality and manufacturing standards, and welding compatibility to the main body of the tee.
3.5 Bars shall be of ample proportions and arranged in a configuration presenting an acceptable streamline contour to liquid flow and thus not induce vibration.
3.6 Bar edges on the run side of the tee shall be rounded and bars positioned so as to contain the cups of a pig within the inner diameter of the run.
3.7 The bar ends shall be machined or ground to fit into the branch and welding shall be a fillet weld completely encircling each bar. Burs of welding shall not protrude into the run of tee.
3.8 All butt weld ends shall be beveled as per ASME B16.9/ MSS-SP-75 as applicable.
3.9 Repair by welding on parent metal of the barred tee is not allowed.
3.10 Welding procedures shall be qualified by the VENDOR and shall include radiography, macro and micro examination, hardness surveys and impact tests as detailed in the applicable code.
3.11 Welder’s performance tests shall be as specified in the ASME Code Section IX. Macro and micro examinations, hardness surveys and impact tests are not required.
3.12 Inspection and nondestructive testing shall conform to the ASME Code Section IX.
3.13 Preheating, post heating and stress relieving requirements and procedures shall be proposed by VENDOR and agreed by the EPC CONTRACTOR.
